Sound Familiar?

You Know When You See A Project And Think, "I Wish I Could Do That"?

You love the idea. You can already picture where it would go in your home.

Then you see the tools involved and suddenly you're thinking, "Actually... maybe I'll just save this for later."

And there it stays, along with all the other projects you'd love to try. 😂

Maybe you've never picked up a drill. Maybe you own one, but you're mostly guessing what the settings do.

Or maybe you're happy painting and styling, but anything with a motor feels a little outside your comfort zone.

I understand that feeling. Even though I grew up around renovations, I wasn't always comfortable with power tools either.

What helped was learning what I was doing, having things explained properly and giving myself a chance to practise.

That's What I Want To Help You Do.

A Little Story

A Little Story About Me And Being Scared To Learn Something...

At sixteen, I decided I was going to catch the bus everywhere.

Seriously. I had my learner's permit, but actually learning to drive made me incredibly nervous.

My brain had plenty of questions, most of them beginning with, "But what if?"

Then one day Mum stopped at the bottom of our long gravel driveway and told me I could either drive up or get out and walk.

Well, when she put it like that... 😂

It was a straight driveway, with no traffic and nobody else living up the road. So I had a go.

I'd been so caught up in what might happen that I hadn't given myself much of a chance to learn.

I think about that when a woman tells me she's "just not the kind of person who could use power tools".

Have you had a chance to learn? Has someone explained it properly? Or does it feel scary because it's unfamiliar?

You don't have to decide what you're capable of before you've been taught.

Let me give you a little nudge towards learning, with clear instructions and time to get familiar with the tools.

Imagine This

Imagine Being Able To Do Those Things Yourself.

You notice something needs fixing, and you know which tool to reach for.

You find a piece of furniture you love, except for the finish, and you know how to start making it over.

You see an idea for your home and start thinking about how you could make it happen.

That's what learning these skills can open up.

And there's something pretty special about standing back from a finished project and thinking, "I did that."

You get something lovely for your home, a useful skill you can keep using and, quite possibly, a growing list of projects you want to try next.

Fair warning on that last part. 😂

I've loved homes for as long as I can remember.

Dad was an electrician, Mum loved interiors, and growing up there was usually a renovation happening or another property they wanted to look at.

I helped my parents renovate more than fifteen homes, then bought my own little two-bedroom unit within two months of turning eighteen.

Apparently I was pretty keen to get started. 😂

I continued buying, renovating and eventually building homes throughout my twenties.

But after having my two kids, I struggled with postnatal depression and lost a lot of my confidence and sense of self.

Getting back into the garage during nap times, picking up my tools and transforming old furniture helped me reconnect with something I'd always loved doing.

It gave me something that felt like me again.

Then I started sharing my projects online, and women began messaging me saying, "I wish I could do that."

I wanted to help them find out that they could learn too.

So I started teaching.

I now have more than fifteen years of renovation experience, twenty renovations behind me and have taught more than 2,000 women.

But I still remember how it feels to be unsure, to need something explained and to wonder whether you're going to get it right.

That's the person I'm thinking about when I teach these lessons.

A Little Moment I'm Pretty Proud Of...

Got Questions?

A Few Questions You Might Have.

What if I've never used a power tool before?

Then you're exactly who I made this for. We start at the beginning. I explain the tools, attachments and terminology as we go, so you don't need to come in already knowing what everything means.

Do I need to own all five tools?

No. Watch the lessons and work out what would be useful for you first. I cover buying and borrowing, and the shopping guide helps you understand the options. There's no need to buy a whole collection before you've decided what you want to do.

What if I'm worried about my strength?

Learning how to handle and support a tool properly makes a difference. I explain the techniques, and you can choose tools and projects that suit your strength, comfort and abilities. It's worth handling a tool before buying it so you can check how it feels for you.

Am I too old to start learning?

You haven't missed your opportunity because you didn't learn when you were younger. There are women inside the course in their forties, fifties and sixties. You can choose projects that suit you and learn at your own pace.

I'm scared I'll hurt myself. Do you explain safety?

Yes. Safety is an important part of the course. We go through protective equipment, handling and the precautions you need to understand before using the tools. You'll also have a downloadable safety checklist to refer back to.

Couldn't I learn this on YouTube?

You can learn plenty on YouTube. I share tutorials there myself! What I've done here is put the beginner lessons together in an order you can follow, with resources to refer to and a community where you can ask questions. You can spend your time working through the lessons instead of searching for someone to explain the next part.

I don't have much spare time. Will I be able to keep up?

There's no timetable to keep up with. The lessons are short, so you can watch when you have time and come back to practise when it suits you. Your access is ongoing.

What if I need to watch something more than once?

Please do! Pause, rewind and watch it again whenever you need to. You can come back to a particular lesson before using that tool or starting a project. That's what it's there for.

Can I use tools I already have?

You may be able to, provided they're in safe working condition and suitable for the job. The controls and features can vary between models, so use your tool's instructions alongside the lessons. If you're unsure about the condition of an older tool, have it checked before using it.

What if I've tried learning before and didn't get anywhere?

You can start from the beginning with me. Sometimes a tutorial moves too quickly or assumes you already understand something. Here, you can work through the basics, revisit the explanations and ask questions in the community.

What if I complete the course and still don't feel confident?

That's what my 30-day confidence guarantee is for. Complete the course, and if you still don't feel more capable and ready to use the tools on your own, I'll refund you.

Your Turn

Give Yourself A Chance To Find Out What You Can Do.

Maybe your first project will be a shelf. Maybe you'll give an old chair a makeover. Maybe you'll finally tackle one of those little jobs that's been bothering you for months.

You don't have to know where it will lead.

Come and learn the tools with me, then choose something you'd love to have a go at.
